Dr Timmerman provides Invisalign as an option for his patients that desire straight teeth without the appearance of braces. While not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign, for those that qualify, it has been fantastic.
Oral hygiene is better with this system, as brushing and flossing is achieved just as if nothing was being done. Diet is unchanged, as there are no foods that should be avoided from fear of breaking a bracket (however snacking between meals is OUT).
As a value added bonus, Dr Timmerman offers FREE bleaching gel for all of his Invisalign cases, so your teeth are not only straight, but WHITE!
If you would like to know if Dr Timmerman feels you are a candidate for Invisalign, call 206-241-5533 today!

There has been a lot of buzz about Invisalign teen lately, both on TV and at water coolers. How does it differ from Invisalign? Is there a difference in price? Will it hurt?
Invisalign teen was developed for the typically non compliant, less responsible young adult. There is a tendency to lose aligners, break aligners, or generally act irresponsibly. Included in the aligners are color indicators that lose color as the trays are worn. If they do NOT lose color, then it is clear that the aligners are not being worn enough. Included in the treatment fee are a limited number of free replacement aligners for those people that can’t quite remember what they did with their trays.
Teenagers are already self conscious about their appearance. Straight teeth without the appearance of metal brackets can really help ones self esteem. Call 206-241-5533 to learn more and see if this is right for YOU or YOUR teen!

Dr Lance Timmerman DMD provides Invisalign to his patients that seek an alternative to wire braces. This works by fabricating a series of clear aligners (or “trays”) that slowly move teeth to desired positions. The average case takes 11 months, but can take longer. For minor cases that are 5 months or less, then Invisalign Express may be an option.

On another board I was asked if wisdom teeth should be extracted prior to starting Invisalign. It is a good question in that it also brings up wisdom tooth retention in general.
If the wisdom teeth are not erupted and don’t appear to be coming in ever, you might consider them a “sleeping dog” and is best to just leave them alone. They could be surgically removed at a later date and not really affect the Invisalign case results.
If the wisdom teeth are partly erupted or fully erupted, I recommend removing them, even if Invisalign is not planned. Periodontally, or gum health wise, these are problems in the making and would be best to be removed.
Invisalign works by having very accurate impressions of the teeth. The presence of the wisdom teeth can inhibit taking good impressions or fabricating aligners that hold the teeth as securely as possible.
“When in doubt, take them out…!”
